The 'Colorado Weed Wire' is still making its way around the state, sampling all the best smoke border to border and letting our fans know of our findings.
Next up is Northern Colorado, specifically, 'Garden City'
'GC' has a rich and storied history dating back to the prohibition era, serving as a base for saloons and liquor stores that were serving residents of nearby (dry at the time) Greeley.
Founded in 1935 and incorporated in 1936, 'GC' spans 64 acres and has a population of roughly 364 residents.
Fast forward to 2014 and once again the city and its residents are showing everyone that they're indeed ahead of the curve, reaping the benefits of legalizing recreational cannabis.
There's currently 4 dispensaries consisting of 'Smokeys', 'LivWell', 'XG' (formerly 'Cloud9') and 'Natures Herbs and Wellness'.
'XG' was the first to give access to retail weed, although bad biz practices including ridiculous pricing, small inventory and less than stellar customer service has them fading quickly.
The complete opposite can be said of 'Smokeys', boasting many of the top strains in addition to a quality and friendly staff of bud tenders on hand with an ultra-low wait time.
Mix in the 'mom and pops' atmosphere and veterans discount, (the only one of the four to do this) and you'll see why their growth has been nothing short of steady.
Enough biz talk.
Lets get to the flower.
Here are the top 3 strains (Indicas) 'Garden City' has to offer in order of overall strength and high:
1.) 'DOG' / Smokey's - Ralph and his team make their grow data available to consumers so the all-important THC and CBD numbers can be seen prior to purchase. Their top shelf signature 'DOG' strain consistently comes in around the 25-28% range and makes the top of our list for 'Indicas'.
2.) 'Purple Cotton' / Liv Well - 'LW' is the largest of the 'Garden City' dispensaries with multiple locations around the state. Their main shortfall is the high wait times. In terms of their top strain in the glass, 'Purple Cotton' comes in at number two with beautiful nuggs and a lasting high.
3.) 'Hash Plant' / Smokey's - Once again, 'Smokeys' growers get the nod on their 'Hash Plant' strain. From the rich sugar loaf leaves dotted with mucho trichomes to the dense and dank buds, 'Hash Plant' has that 'two hit's and quit" capability and doesn't disappoint hardcore smokers.
Overall, the 'Colorado Weed Wire' has to go with 'Smokeys' for overall quality of Indica flower in 'Garden City'.
